Finally! A new summon for FFXI. It's been a while since the Summoner job got some love, but now they have the baddest mofo around on their side.
Those of you that played FF8 (if you haven't, shame on you) should remember Diabolos as the winged, demon looking Summon/Guardian force. He's been in FFXI for a while now as part of the Chains of Promathia expansion, but the latest update has made him a bona fide, full-fledged, oh-my-god what's that Summon.
Getting him isn't easy though, oh no...far from it. First you have to complete Chains of Promathia mission 3-5 then talk to a TaruTaru named Kerutoto in the north side of the Rhinostery in Windurst. There you will receive the quest to obtain Diabolos, and oh my what a quest it is! I won't spoil the details of the story for you here, but I will say that you'll need a full party of high-level (that means lvl. 65+) players to defeat this guy. It takes some time, and a lot of effort as most things in FFXI do, but the reward of being able to summon the "Ruler of Dreams" at will is well worth it.
