Carmack wants to do cell MMOG

id software co-founder and video game guru John Carmack had an interview on CNN recently. In that interview he talks about a lot of things, but one of the most interesting topics was the mention of a mobile MMOG from id.

From the article:
We're probably going to have a sequel to 'Orcs and Elves' but I'm really into the idea of a massively multiplayer cell phone title," he said. "I have absolutely no interest in going and competing with Blizzard in the high end of that market, but a cell phone version might be interesting.

This is pretty cool news. Carmack is a video game visionary, if he gets into the mobile game market people will take notice.

I think a MMORPG on a cell phone game would be a great idea. It would allow people not to be stuck in the house playing games, or allow them to run an errand or head out into "real life" (whatever that is!) without missing there events!

Only thing i would wonder is is it online too? or just a cell phone

I hope that John will take security seriously.

By the way, if you play with WoW, I suggest that you give a read to the following interview with two security researchers. They analyzed WoW security and found naive things...

It is eye-opening.
