Perpetual Entertainment announced today that legendary artist Andrew Probert has joined the Star Trek Online team. Probert had great influence in designing a variety of ships for The Next Generation, including the main and battle bridges for the Enterprise D.
From Perpetual's press release:
As a Trek fan, I am pleased. Pleased indeed.
Probert is an excellent addition to the Star Trek Online team. He's had a long, influential career in sci-fi. He even designed the Cylons from the original Battlestar Galactica. You can view some new ship design concepts for Star Trek Online here.
The future of Star Trek Online is looking brighter and brighter every month. Back in December, I wrote a pre-preview of the title. Back then the big news was the addition of LCARS designer Michael Okuda, who also had major influence on the designs of The Next Generation. It seems like Perpetual is going straight to the best sources for this latest incarnation of the Star Trek franchise.
As Martha says, it's a Good Thing.
