One thing that I feel is missing in the current crop of MMORPGs is a sense of depth for the characters we create. Our avatars are always born parentless and often sterile as well. I think that implementing virtual families in MMORPGs could be one of the new mechanisms we see in the next generation of MMORPGs.

I love MMORPGs, I really do. The ever-changing nature of them always keeps me coming back for more. The interaction with other real live people in the game world is also just perfect. However, I can't deny that being able to meet people in MMORPGs is both a blessing and a curse.
