2005 was a big year for MMORPGs. Guild Wars launched and quickly established itself as a big player in the genre. World of Warcraft continued to prosper, even to the point where there was actually a WoW related question on College Jeopardy. Not all the games released in 2005 fared as well though.

I love MMORPGs, I really do. The ever-changing nature of them always keeps me coming back for more. The interaction with other real live people in the game world is also just perfect. However, I can't deny that being able to meet people in MMORPGs is both a blessing and a curse.
